For MOS, McCulley Design created a lifestyle brand that redefines what the good life is through surroundings and visual symbols. The 2,200 square foot store showcases an eclectic mix of modern designer furniture, chic bedding and bathware, and quirky accessories. The interior architecture and brand graphics designed by McCulley Design blend the high design of the product mix with a playfulness inspired by modern pop art which appeals to a broad spectrum of the community, from the affluent sophisticate to the trendhugging youth.
While there were significant renovations to the space, including column rework and storefront improvements, McCulley Design limited build-outs to features like the cash wrap and shelving. Instead, the company developed a system of movable display units to create small horizontal planes throughout the space. At regular intervals, graphic brand punctuations appear throughout the space in the form of vibrant fabric panels with abstractions of the logo symbol. The panels, like the regular beats of a metronome, serve to create a visual rhythm that break up the long space while providing a means of separating the product vignettes.
